The receptionist billed us twice - in spite of being prepaid, she billed us again. I also feel she was treating us differently because we were Indians - like she doesn’t trust at all. Felt insulted. The food and room were good. It’s a km walk from metro station

I recently had the misfortune of encountering a rather unpleasant experience at holiday inn express schiphol-amsterdam, and i feel compelled to share my disappointment. While the overall ambiance of the hotel was satisfactory, the behavior of the hotel receptionist left much to be desired. Upon checking in, my wife and i were greeted by a receptionist who was very friendly and welcoming. Later during our stay, when we requested for a bottle of drinking water at the reception to a different receptionist the response is gave was unexpected and unprofessional. Instead of providing a simple solution, the receptionist dismissively said there are no drinking water bottles and suggested that we drink tap water from the bathroom in our room. This response was not only unhelpful but also quite shocking. In any reputable establishment, basic amenities such as drinking water are expected to be readily available, and guests should not be directed to consume tap water from a bathroom. This not only raises concerns about hygiene but also reflects poorly on the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. Hospitality is a fundamental aspect of the hotel industry, and a courteous and accommodating staff is essential for a positive guest experience. Unfortunately, our encounter with the receptionist left us feeling undervalued as guests. Guests should be able to expect a certain level of service, and the behavior we experienced falls far short of those expectations. While the hotel may have other redeeming qualities, the conduct of its receptionist significantly marred our overall impression. Taking initiative, i was able to locate the email addresses of the operations manager and general manager at holiday inn express schiphol. I promptly composed an email detailing the incident, expressing my concerns. I sincerely hope that this feedback is taken constructively, and measures are put in place to ensure that other guests do not have to endure similar experiences in the future.

This holiday inn express is situated in hoofddorp which is outside amsterdam. It is very close to schiphol airport so that is a plus. The nearest rail station is hoofddorp which is 650m away and it has direct sprinter train to amsterdam central station. When you go to amsterdam make sure you know the last train time to return in case you are staying late in the city(which you will. We stayed at this property for 2 nights. Stay was very good. Staff is very nice, welcoming and courteous. Breakfast is complimentary and the hotel has no kitchen. You have to order your food from outside in case you want to have dinner there. Best part is they provide you cutlery and space in dining area to have food.

Very good property with its pros and cons

This holiday inn express is situated in hoofddorp which is outside amsterdam. It is very close to schiphol airport so that is a plus. The nearest rail station is hoofddorp which is 650m away and it has direct sprinter train to amsterdam central station. When you go to amsterdam make sure you know the last train time to return in case you are staying late in the city(which you will. We stayed at this property for 2 nights. Stay was very good. Staff is very nice, welcoming and courteous. Breakfast is complimentary and the Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Schiphol by IHG has no kitchen. You have to order your food from outside in case you want to have dinner there. Best part is they provide you cutlery and space in dining area to have food.
