Aloft has the best location in Thamel, flanked by a mall and several places to try out the street-food or have a drink in the evening. The amenities at the hotel are great, and the staff is quite helpful as well. I would recommend this place, and stay there the next time I visit Kathmandu.

Not worth the price and terrible experience

Location is good. Breakfast buffet is very good. But i had a terrible experience. I had specifically booked for 2 king size bed rooms but both rooms had 2 single beds. And they blamed it on technical glitch. Even after repeatedly insisting on a kingsize bed, they could not arrange for it. Barring this experience, property is surely not worth the price.

Amenities: 9/10 ( Temp controlled swimming pool overlooking Kathmandu valley, 2 Bars one in lobby and another on top floor overlooking pool with good collection of wine/beer/whiskey, Spa on top floor, super helpful concierge, gym) Service: 100/10 (yes 100 on 10, need I say more?) Food: 10/10 ( we only had bfast at the hotel but it was delicious with huge spread, restaurant team and chef are amazing human beings, they pamper you to the core) Important points to consider: Located in a high end mall at Thamel with plenty of restaurants, bars ,cafe, spa, shopping options nearby. Just step out and start exploring Thamel. Walking distance to Bally's casino (which I would not recommend if going with ladies). Need a cab: just ask concierge/reception, they will arrange a local transport for you with nominal charges (you may directly discuss pricing with cab driver or request hotel staff) They don't charge exorbitant amount in the name of transportation. Whenever I am back in Kathmandu, I am staying nowhere else but Aloft. Thank you for making my stay memorable.
