Safety concerns - protocols not in place- indifferent staff

The hotel is located well in the main downtown area. Rooms are spacious and well maintained neatly and clean. Food was good nothing special. The main issue was false fire alarm which went off in middle of night. It was not at all attended professionally. No one picked up phone at reception. All guest were clueless. Everyone walked to the lobby where there were 2-3 staff who did not know how to handle the situation. Fire department guys came and went inside no one updated. Finally they cleared but again no head count was taken to check any guests safety. Nothing was announced the alarm was reset. The fire marshal left and guest started to walk back. Very strange still no one from hotel announced that the reason and if all was ok. Finally after an hour went to bed. Almost got to sleep when the alarm came back on again. This time the hotel i guess reset it. Could not have a worse night. No compensation or goodwill gesture by the hotel offered to guests, would have appreciated if staff showed some empathy and offered compensation for ruined night. 100 cad taken as deposit yet to be refunded as it takes 5-6 days as per hotel
