I stayed for 2 days at the Great Southern Hotel for a business trip to Melbourne, and the experience was awesome - friendly, cooperative staff, comfortable accommodations, and a tasty, well balanced breakfast that set me up well for the day. Best wishes.

Overall good experience - good price and good breakfast. Rooms are nice and cosy. They provided sufficient blankets for the cold winter.

This place is very comfortable, close to all main locations in the heart of the town. Tram, metro, sky-bus etc are just a walk away. The rooms were clean and soacious. Will book it again if i come!

The hotel is situated in close proximity with the 'southern cross railway station. So, it is popular for first-time visitors to the city. It's a beautiful property with neat & clean rooms, good quality linen, proper lighting etc. Etc. I enjoyed my 02 nights' stay here and will like to come again whenever my next visit happens. One small suggestion: the space between the writing desk and the bed in my room (no. 620) is insufficient. So, it becomes difficult for the user to get into the chair. There is an alternative to provide suitable sized 'stools' in lieu of the chairs. This will solve the problem to maximum extent.

I was looking a place close to convention choose great southern stay, however city center but not for elite class this hotel is for middle class everything is budget,.

Hotel is located on the main Road. Rooms are spacious. Within close proximity to main areas.

Convenient and walkable distance from railway station and Melbourne exhibition and convention center.

As per there service hotel is not more than 2 star category.

Excellent neat clean and a good stay

350 meters away from the station. It's very close from the tram station too. Restaurants nearby are located in king cross. Good hotel for budget stay in Melbourne.

The Hotel is good, but the only thing I didn't like much was the breakfast menu, It was the same menu every day.

The hotel is situated at very convenient location, the rail station, the tram station is at hardly 2 minute walk, 7eleven store is very close. Also the free tram zone for City tour is also 3 minute walk. Rooms are good with basic facility. Overall good stay.

Staff in the morning shift was extremely courteous. I arrived at 8 in the morning and the check in time was 2pm. However they made arrangements for me to freshen up and keep my luggage so I could proceed with my plans for the day.
