Benin in Western Africa is a unique country with five different landscapes. With coasts, lagoons, plateaus, mountains and plains, the country has two distinct climate zones. The Royal Palaces of Abomey together constitute a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Another culturally important city in southern Benin, along the Gulf of Guinea, is Quidah. The Temple of Pythons is a major spiritual attraction comprising about 60 docile Royal Pythons whom the locals revere. Benin is also popular for Ganvie - the largest lake village in Africa. It comprises about 3000 stilt houses on Lake Nokoué. The economic capital of Benin is Cotonou. It is filled with nightclubs and restaurants.
