    Stay at Hotel Portamaggiore

    This is an old hotel (MMT site showed this as 3 star, they said it is 4 star) and hence charged extra as city Tax. No amenities in room even basic things like hot water or mobile charging point (only one charging point available in toilet). Same breakfast continued for 4 days. Location is good since tram stop is right outside. Overall this is not a very good place to stay for international travelers.

    Excellent stay in Rome. Close to all the public transport which will take you to all the main attraction of the city. Breakfast was good. At time you will hear tram train noise but manageable. I recommend the stay

    The hotel has a very good location. It is located on the PortaMaggiore itself and a 15-minute walk from Trmini Station. The view from the room is beautiful. The rooms are large and clean. Bathrooms are large and have everything they need. Very good breakfast. Restaurant garden is very good. The staff is friendly.

    Very bad service

    Awful service. They overbook the hotel & later turn away the gust to nearby smaller hotels. We were not given any prior intimation and when we reached there the staff claimed to have problems with rooms there & if interested would arrange nearby hotel (guess 2 star). As we are stuck with no other option in a new place with different language there is nothing much you can do. Later meet 3 other couple in the hotel they shifted us to, who shared the same experience. Location is bit far from the railway station, but near to tram station. So all in all do not risk it take somewhere reliable. The only good thing is if you book through makemytrip at least they are reliable & help you out.

    The room was clean and location was convenient. Room was very small and had only one charging point which was also not working. Very noisy and you could hear bathroom flush from the next room. It had a beautiful garden

    Not that bad for the money we paid

    It is on 5-10 minutes walking distance from the metro station. The room was basic with old furniture. Low water pressure in the bathroom. The toilet sink and the hairdryer were broken. Noisy in the evenings. There is a touristic tax of 4 EUR per person per night.

    Good experience of old Rome

    Old school hotel.. Really accessible from tram.. In main centre of tram.. Good service and Breakfast.. Room was clean and well maintained.. Staff was helpful in guide us around Rome.. Overall good experience.
