My stay at the Royal Chulan was fantastic! The room was spotless and well-maintained, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially hotel gaurds. The location was perfect for exploring the city, and India restaurants nearby,with easy access to public transportation. I especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet with a wide variety of options. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and I look forward to staying here again on my next trip

An experience to forget

The room wasn't cleaned properly. There was dust and cobwebs all over the ceiling and walls. The wardrobe was stinking of sweat. The toilets were smelling. We had to get the room cleaned. The staff were very apologetic but were unable to resolve the chaos at our room. The breakfast spread was limited and not upto 4 star standards. The only USP for this hotel is that it's a heritage hotel. Nothing Royale about it.

This hotel has excellent standards of luxury and service and we were really impressed with the prompt service and highly professional and friendly behaviour of the staff. Located just a stone's throw away from Penang jetty and Jeti rapid Penang bus stop, this property is truly a gem of a location right at the edge of the Georgetown heritage area. We could visit all the heritage sites on foot from here. The rooms are luxurious with all the amenities you could expect in a luxury hotel. The swimming pool was really great. The staff were very courteous and professional and won our hearts over. We'd highly recommend this for couples and families alike. A really memorable experience that made our 3 day Penang visit the best in Malaysia.

We enjoyed our stay at the royale Chulan in Georgetown, Penang. The hotel is a bit dated, yet it offers all the main facilities such as an outdoor pool, small gym, buffet breakfast and an impressive lobby. The location can not be beaten, as the hotel is close to the waterfront ferry Port and walking distance of the entire historic City centre. Beds are comfortable, but the pillows perhaps too large. While the hotel isn't the coolest one in Town, it is comfortable and with good facilities all around.

The Royale Chulan provides a wonderful location in historic Georgetown, Penang. The hotel is situated close to the ferry on the waterfront as well as walking distance of the entire town. The hotel is a bit dated, but provides quality accommodation with a good yet impersonal level of service. The pool is quite good, but the fitness center is pretty basic. Breakfast is very good and served in the historical part of the hotel.

This hotel is located in Penang George Town nearby Ferry Terminal. All location such as little India, Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi, Cheong Fatt Tze the blue mansion, Gurney drive, fort Cornwallis, Clan Jetties of Penang, Chew Jetty, Goddess of Mercy Temple Penang, Penang State Museum and art gallery etc.

The Royale Chulan provides a wonderful location in historic Georgetown, Penang. The Royale Chulan Penang is situated close to the ferry on the waterfront as well as walking distance of the entire town. The Royale Chulan Penang is a bit dated, but provides quality accommodation with a good yet impersonal level of service. The pool is quite good, but the fitness center is pretty basic. Breakfast is very good and served in the historical part of the Royale Chulan Penang.

Located very near to everything. You can walk to Padang Kota.
