Reviews Summary

Guests really appreciate the friendly staff and clean rooms at this property. The spacious accommodations and central location make it a convenient choice, especially with nearby food options. Many enjoyed the complimentary coffee and cookies, adding a nice touch to their stay. A few noted issues with amenities being unavailable due to renovations, but overall, it’s a solid spot for comfort and convenience.
Average Stay
Our stay at courtyard by marriott was not as pleasant as expected. The property is nice, and gives a good first impression. However, the room fixtures are somewhat old. The specific problems we encountered: a) we were assured that we would be given a room with a microwave. At check-in, we were assigned a room, and were told that it has a microwave. When we went to the room, we found that it doesn't have a microwave. We went back to the front desk and were given a different room. This had a microwave. It was inconvenient to move our bags back and forth. B) the hot water in the sink didn't work. We called up the front desk, but they didn't take our word for it. We were told that if we let the water run for a bit, the hot water would eventually work. But no luck there. C) we wanted to set the room thermostat to 75. However, the thermostat would not go beyond 72. When we checked with the front desk, we were told that it was intentional - it was a corporate policy! it appears that they want to reduce their heating bills, and would rather let their guests be uncomfortable. I asked to speak to a manager, and was told that there wasn't one on duty (7 pm, and i would have to wait until next morning! d) the wifi network didn't work. Rather than a straightforward wifi network, they have a rather complicated one. I was given the phone number of tech support, and i spent a bunch of time on the phone figuring it out, and finally got it to work. A lot of wasted time! e) we had requested room service daily for our 4-day stay. After the first day, no room service was done. On our way out on the next morning, i reminded the front desk that room service was due. I was given a rude response that it would indeed be done. However, even when we came back that evening, no service was done. The same rude lady at the front desk said that it was because there were a 100 checkouts today. I asked for fresh towels, and was given fresh towels. F) we accidentally got locked out of the bathroom on saturday morning. A maintenance person came up and fixed it. I also showed him the hot water problem with the sink. He acknowledged the problem, but couldn't fix it, as he was a trainee. He said that regular maintenance would be available on monday (this was saturday morning. There was no point fixing on monday, as we would be checking out then. G) on one of the evenings, we were in the lobby, and witnessed a very heated exchange between another guest and the front desk. The guest was yelling for fresh towels. It is pitiful that one has to take so much pain even for basic amenities at a marriott, having paid a tariff. H) we needed a paper drinking cup to use in the microwave. The cups provided in the room were only plastic. There was a restaurant in the ground floor, and i asked for one. The staff member said that they were not allowed to give away paper cups to guests for free. It was super insulting! very disappointed overall. Wouldn't recommend this property!
