Bad experience

This resort is like 2 star resort and not 3 star. Bathroom drainage very slow, water accumulates in bathroom. Swimming pool is very dirty. Wi-fi speed is very slow. Food quality is bad. Even bathroom door latch is not working and we cannot close the door. We have to call the housekeeping persons to do cleaning, they don't do by themselves. I was shocked by seeing the bill I will not recommend this resort at all.

Wonderful quiet and peaceful stay

We never thought we would end up in such a peaceful and quiet place in Negombo. The resort is new since they opened in February 2019 but the property is amazing. One Side of the resort you have the beach and the other side you have the lagoon. All the rooms come with a big porch/balcony and you can enjoy a quiet meal plus drinks on your porch. Drinks are allowed only within the premises of your room. The rooms face the garden which has some nice ponds and you can spot some wild-life such as lizards. The pool faces the lagoon and if you're lucky enough you can spot the water monitor lizard in the lagoon. All the rooms are spacious and very comfy. The road leading to the resort is very peaceful and quiet and people are very friendly always smiling and greeting. The food at the resort is tasty specially the Sri Lankan rice and curry preparations. The gardens are well kept and maintained, the staff is very friendly and can arrange transportation at reasonable rates. You can access free Wi-fi in the lobby/restaurant and the pool. If your room is close enough to the restaurant router then you can access the wi-fi from your porch. The airport is around 20-25 minutess from the resort. If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful stay in Negombo near the beach then we definitely recommend the amaluna resort.
