Amazing and over whelmed by the hospitality

We had a great stay at bartizan, i must appreciate the manager friendly nature and helping us in guiding. Initially we were offered the small room ( we had booked the same looking at the picture online) and later when we were not happy they upgraded to a bigger room without any extra charges. The manager and staff were very well behaved and too good as we were only two girls but never felt a hinch of uncomfortableness. I strongly suggest the bartizan to any of my friends and family members who will be travel-ling to srilanka

It's a fort converted into a hotel. Excellent staff and huge amazing rooms. Best part is the view of the ocean from the room, and it's walking distance from the main spots in galle fort area. Very convenient

Unbeatable views

We loved the stay at Bartizan. The views from the hotel terrace area and the tower room where I stayed were spectacular. The hospitality was great too and the manager chatted with us about the place and always had recommendations ready. The only thing that slightly disappointed us was that the breakfast wasn't vegetarian or vegan friendly. We had to choose from a set menu which had almost no vegetarian only options and even when we asked them to customize it for us, we ended up with a bland avocado toast the first day. Having learnt our lesson, we chose Srilankan dosas for the next day with curry and dal. Not really breakfast stuff but we had to make do with it. Every other aspect was perfect. Also, would suggest the hotel use glass bottles to serve water in the room. We were very uncomfortable with plastic bottles.

The hotel is beautiful and at The best possible location. It has one of The most fantastic terrace views that I have seen, perfect for sunset. Service was top notch. The only thing is utility wise The room can do better.

Bartizan is an old dutch fort (a UNESCO heritage) converted into a boutique hotel by a Sri Lankan couple, as the welcome note says. It overlooks the Indian Ocean and the view that you get in the morning is mesmerizing. We stayed at the Tower Room, it seemed as if it were from a fairy tale, walking up a spiral staircase into a tiny yet cozy roomed. The staff was incredibly hospitable and exuded genuine warmth and made our stay so much sweeter. The breakfast is the morning is an elaborate affair and is a hearty affair. Major tourist attractions and highly recommended food joints are at a walking distance. Our stay at Bartizan added to the lovely experience of our Sri Lanka vacation.
