Stay away at any cost

We stayed here for a night and it was probably my worst stay ever in my traveling to Europe for over 5 years. Location is convenient with about 10-15 minutes walk from Old town however that's the only good thing about this place. The host is unhelpful and beyond reach. We booked it through MakeMyTrip and they didn't provide any instructions to enter the apartment or phone number to contact the host. There's no reception and we waited under the building for half and hour in rain. We got some number from their website but no one answered the phone and we were able to contact them finally only after about 45 mins when they sent the instructions to enter. Coming to the apartment, it's 1 bedroom with separate living and kitchen. However, it's not clean at all, bedsheet was stained and duvet smells terrible and was dirty like has never been washed. Washing machine doesn't work and when we inquired, he asked us to look for YouTube video. We told him, the issue is power and not operating the machine, but no help. WiFi instructions provided were wrong, and he asked us to use free Edinburgh wi-fi which had no range. He finally messaged the wi-fi instructions 2 days after checking out. The bathroom is in dilapidated condition, shower has no pressure at all and is very time consuming and difficult to use. There's no hand-wash provided at the basin. Though the kitchen seemed ok and we'll be equipped, we were disappointed by everything else going wrong by that time. Thankfully we had only one night stay at that place and checked out first thing next morning. Edinburgh is a lovely city with plenty of reasonable accomodations. Explore something else and don't spoil your visit by staying here.
