Embudu Village

We stayed at embudu village resort for 6days / 5 nights package at the end of november 2021. Lets me first deal with the mandatory expenses. The to and fro airport transportation charges are 80 usd per person and since its mandatory for those coming to india to get covid rtpcr report, that will cost you another 80 usd per person. These are the charges which you have to budget for. Next is the main activity at embudu. Snorkelling. It is highly advised to purchase your own equipment in india and take it to embudu. Renting snorkelling mask, pipe, fins and life jackets will cost around 100 usd per day and the same can be purchased in india for around 2500 rupees (i bought my equipment from decathlon) next is that the superior beach villas on the western side are a bit better than the ones on eastern side particularly for family ravellers. On the western side there are good shady trees and hammocks and lounges and then a few steps after that is the ocean. So when not swimming / snorkelling in the ocean, one can spend a lot of leisurely time on the hammocks and swings etc. Also the western side ocean is a sandy hence safer for swimming in case you are not a very good swimmer. Eastern side has more coral and better scenery for snorkelling. It resort is clean and hygienic and you can see the staff cleaning the fallen leaves every morning and afternoon. When it comes to food, its better to go for full board (all three meals. Desserts is their speciality and the range of desserts at each meal is mindblowing. For indian vegetarians, the options are limited to salabs and rice and dal and one vegetable curry. Its better to carry a few ready to cook rotis so that they make heat them on the tawas and give it to you. For non vegetarians. Most of the items are halal for westerners, its a foodies paradise. One thing i highly recommend is to get one hour training in snorkelling from the trainer at the diving center. That will cost you 60 usd per person for one hour. If you get trained on the first day of the stay, then rest of the days of your stay you can do the snorkelling on your own and really enjoy the holiday. And a tour of snorkelling in deep sea along with sharks and rays is highly recommended. It will cost 40 usd per person. For muslims, the good news is that food is mostly halal and there is a small mosque on the island for praying. All in all. It was a good holiday. Very enjoyable and relaxing. I rate embudu village resort very highly for taking fabulous care.

The resort is located at south aria atoll which is 20 mins speed boat ride from male airport, has a huge variety of fish around the water villas and the room itself has a glass floor to see fish under it. The pricing is reasonable and being close to male the speedboat cost is also much less. Food is totally continental and very good quality buffet with a few indian dishes too. . It's the ideal place to snorkel around with the fish and corals. We had taken our snorkel and we swam along with the fish and over the corals that were opening and closing. At one point we reached the edge of the reef and we could see several fish while the sea was completely bottomless. It's mesmerizing. However, since all water equipment is chargeable it is best to carry your own gear as much as possible.

Best in terms of hospitality. beautiful island with clean beaches all around. Water villas are best for stay. Superior beach villas have quick access to the water, though could be better in terms of room quality. Bar is located at amazing location with a deck right on top of ocean. Buffet lunch and dinner could give more varieties for vegetarians. overall an amazing experience indeed 😊

Best location to enjoy your holidays. The food served is multicultural and enjoyable. The desserts were at maintained class. Resort were maintained regular for cleanliness and hygiene with strict protocols to dispose the waste also. The safety was on continuous watch for the embudu village members

Really enjoyed the stay at embudu village. The reefs are excellent and can see lot of marine life during the snorkeling. Don't have to go to any exclusive snorkeling sites just step out from the villas and jump into water and enjoy the scenic marine life. Really enjoyed the stay

As per location, ambience and environment it is one of the best property to stay in maldives. There are some drawbacks too. If you are vegan(pure veg) there are very limited options in food and staff's response and behaviour is not up to the mark

This is poor people maldives. Pricing is in budget specially for indians. Facilities are like a 3 star resort. Main plus is veg indian food availability.
