Bahrain Air was a privately owned national carrier based at the Bahrain International Airport. Set up in July 2007, Bahrain Air initially operated alongside the state-owned pan-Gulf airlines Gulf Air to meet the increasing need of low cost carrier among Indian population living in Gulf region. However, in February 2008, Bahrain Air commenced its operations as a separate entity offering about 110 flights across 17 destinations worldwide.
