This hotel is an old property situated in a good location. But the staff doesn't show any interest in serving guests. Though the rooms are renovated, they lack in services. When asked for ironing facility, they said the hotel has only one iron box that is currently used by another room, so we needed to wait for 20 minutes. Even after that, they didn't provide it. As for drinking water, they have kept a purified water machine in the passage area, where we needed to go and refill it on our own. Even on New Year's night, they didn't allow us to go on the lawn and locked the outside door. Overall, it was pathetic staying there during the New Year night.

My family and I stayed at The Monarch for my Bday from 27-30th Dec. We had a great Time. Mr Kumar at Hotel ensured I get my Vegan food and the Man at the Reception guided us to amazing Tour taxi drivers who took us around both days. The Best part was the staff sharing how they are all Loved and taken care of my Mithun Chakraborty and his family so respectfully. We could feel that Respect being passed down by the Staff to us as well. The View from Kings suite was Superb and the Stay was so comfortable. Food was tasty and the Bonfire was fun

Too much cold but very luxury rooms and suitable for car parking. Nice stay But hotel guys gave me very small room on top floor and charged for 9000 rs Only food was good

Good behaviour of staff. Good healthy food. Poor cleanliness, maintenance. The balconies are unusable, hairs on the floor, damps in wall. 2 out of 3 nights, there were 4 hours power cuts, during bad weather of monsoon. Food is good, but very expensive.

there was no assistance at the main gate. staff seams to be little rude but professional. Billing and reception can be better.

Don’t expect too much from this hotel, old building and only lawn is attractive nothing else. Breakfast is not that great

Good the ambiance was good and lived the place but had a problem with booking as wanted to modify my dates of booking which was not possible and had to come back early and my one day booking was waste and they was no refund

Centrally located property, near tourist spot, some food item is good & some items are average, the pictures shown is not matching, toilet condition is very bad, even not provided toiletries basic, as per given rating and rate it's not upto the mark need to improvement, staff is very cooperative

The hotel was really great but, they could have added heaters to the pool and room. I felt like a star because a movie was shot there. I removed 2 ratings because of these two things, otherwise everything else was thank you.

I had a good stay at this hotel. Pros: 1. Staffs are very friendly and courteous 2. Ample amount of parking space 3. Hotel is almost at the top of the hill, due to which you get an amazing view of ooty city 4. Food is awesome 5. They provide every toiletry kit including shaving set 6. Very neat and tidy rooms 7. I stayed at room#124 and this had an amazing view of the helipad and then the ooty city 8. Unlike other hotels, the rooms opening towards the helipad has an extra room for dinner and small party (kind of unexpected but enjoyed a lot) 9. I read some review about being old-fashioned, untidy and damped rooms but let me tell you this, its an old hotel but they have really taken care of it and provided you with everything that you need to have a pleasant stay. Don't go with other reviews, i have visited ooty countless times and stayed in many hotels but this one will give you peace of mind! cons: nothing i noticed or experienced during my stay

Very quiet place. Quite big hotel with all facilities. Room is big and well appointed. Food is very good. Staffs are very co ordeal.

We found poor service and some reasons for that are no napkins in the washroom, no iron in the room, no exhaust fan, not receiving the calls, no continuity of wifi, average food, errors in drainage system.

It was a wonderful & memorable journey. Enjoyed a lot.Location was superb. From the Monarch we can able to see the city's view.Food was delicious. As I'm vegetarian, It's a humble request to you that veg & non veg food should be kept apart. It shouldn't be kept near to each other. Services & amenities were best.
