Review Of Shangri-la Regency

Although the stay is located in a convenient place near the clock tower, but the service was really poor. Almost in every 30 minutes there is a power cut and there are no sufficient power supply through generators as well. At night we were given candles instead of giving proper generator setups. The place where breakfast was served was also not clean and the table cloths are not tidy. It takes almost 15-20mins for responding to your call for your service. Allover our experience was really poor. I'll not recommend this stay to anyone in future.

it was pleasant, staff is courteous. they provided warm electric blanket as well. breakfast included was generous. over all it was pleasure staying there.

Rooms are in bad condition with everything broken...poor breakfast experience where they charge you for Complementary Buffet breakfast but no buffet... one person can get only one item out of the only 4 items available which are also poor.

Pros:1. location is very good....mall is beside.....famous restaurants are nearby.......car stand are nearby...........shops are nearby 2. Car can go up to hotel. 3. Breakfast is good Cons: 1.pathetic room service.I have asked for one extra banket for my child,they did not provide.then i asked for only a bed sheet ...they even did not give me.full disappointed. 2. I booked for 3 rooms. Some lights are damaged,some room exhaust fan are not working,bed heaters are malfunctioning. 3.Bathroom: room no 101 water fully clogged in bathroom.....most bathroom water outgoing is very slow........ Most disappointing point is i told that problem of room no 101 to owner of the hotel.....he even did not listen my word. totally disappointing

The biggest issue is the power back up. Every night the power was off and also back up power was turned off nearly 11.30 p.m to 12.00 a.m. As a result the blanket heating, warming water in the extreme cold & humid days of rain, geyser, etc. were off. At midnight, had to go to toilet using a torch. The power usually was restored around 7.30 a.m in the morning. Till then we had to idle. Phone lines were diring power cut. Manager gave his number but phone was turned off. Kitchen was empty most of the time. They served only breakfast and that too took long. Since lunch and dinner were not served, we had to go out in search of food. This assistance of food availability with tie ups with some restaurants was also missing. The water connection was off for some time as the tank was empty and no one was there to look after this. No room heater was there. The toilet of one room had a connecting window to adjacent room's toilet. So privacy not guaranteed! Only got a view from the room we stayed was good. So in totality this hotel cannot be recommended, unless there is lesser option left in Darjeeling due to rush.

Property is good. Room was small but had all amenities. However the only drawback was that we had booked the room with breakfast. Lunch or dinner were not included. At the time of booking I had asked them whether we could get food if ordered. They had said yes. But they don't have a regular kitchen and could not provide dinner. They told me that I would have to order it on zomato or go to some other restaurant. We had got a room on the 3rd floor. We are senior citizens and found it difficult to go down again for dinner so we had to order food on zomato. We had booked the room with breakfast only. Breakfast was very good. All other services were good.

We booked a family deluxe room, but the room we received was full of dust and fungus with inadequate lighting. The condition of the washroom was a nightmare for us (the flush and shower were not working properly). The cupboard and furniture were so dirty that we couldn't use them. Then after complaining they shifted us to another room but it was a small room, not a family deluxe one. Although no manager came to visit our condition even after raising issues so many times to the reception.

The location is good, it is near to the mall and good restaurants, near to the taxi stand and the road is OK to walk on. Only breakfast is available rest of the meals you have to either order or eat out. The Attic room that we stayed in you have to climb quite a few stairs but the view is gorgeous. The rooms are a little old and needs upgrade but overall comfortable to stay in. The room price for a night however is excellent.

Everything is nice except food. Food is limited and not good at all. Everything else is nice, rooms are spacious.

we had a wonderful stay at Shangrila regency the hospitality was great complimentary breakfast was too good the staff were polite and the person at the reception were helpful enjoyed our stay Again when I will go to Darjeeling will stay in the same hotel highly recommend this hotel 10/10

I have stayed for 2 nights in this hotel but when I entered the room, cleaning is not up to mark. Whenever I touch any table or anything, I can see dust, and also the landline is not working, so I need to go to reception when I need something.

They don't provide lunch or dinner service which is a negative. The top floor provides excellent view of Darjeeling town and the mountains, but they don't have any lift, so not recommended for elders or people with leg pain. Else service is good. Breakfast service is a bit slow and limited but tastes good. The hotel is right on Gandhi road so you can access it with a car.

The View: The absolute highlight was waking up to the most spectacular, unobstructed views of the Kanchenjunga range. Watching the golden sunlight hit the peaks from the balcony was a spiritual experience. Cozy Comfort: After a day of exploring the vibrant local culture and beautiful murals around the city, coming back to such a warm and cozy room was a delight. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxing mountain retreat. Dining: We were also treated to wonderful food during our stay. Every meal felt like a celebration, served with genuine warmth and hospitality.

Stay was not satisfactory. No restaurant was available at the hotel. Staff was unprofessional. The room was not good enough.

Great experience staying in this hotel. Excellent location, very near and walking distance to shopping area and local restaurants. we was lucky to be upgraded to a Superior room with window. The hotel provided complimentary breakfast was also very good. The staffs services are excellent throughout and they are very attentive. We are very happy and much appreciated being served by them. Thank you very much! Will be back.
