A heritage gem with one room mix-up and countless memories.
Le Dupleix is a stunning heritage property and easily one of the most photogenic places in Pondicherry. It seemed like almost every visitor passing by stopped to take a picture in front of its iconic entrance. Every nook and corner of the property feels like a photo booth, with beautiful architecture, charming courtyards, and a timeless colonial ambiance. My only concern during the stay was related to the room allocation. We were upgraded to the Penthouse without prior intimation. While the Penthouse is spacious, well-appointed, and features impressive wooden interiors, it simply doesn’t compare to the charm of the Deluxe Rooms. The classic Pondicherry-French aesthetics, beautiful wall art, elegant windows, and distinctive doors—reminiscent of the famous “Doors of Pondicherry”—give the Deluxe Rooms a unique character that the Penthouse lacks. I was not entirely convinced by the explanation that Deluxe Rooms were unavailable despite my confirmed booking. It was also mentioned that the room shown on the booking platform may not necessarily be the room assigned, as different Deluxe Rooms exist within the property. While I understand such variations can happen, clearer communication beforehand would have helped manage expectations. Rather than spending time arguing and affecting an otherwise wonderful vacation, I eventually moved myself to a Deluxe Room and only regretted not having spent my entire stay there. The breakfast buffet was good, though not particularly exceptional by the standards of premium heritage properties. On the positive side, the staff were courteous, helpful, and cooperative throughout our stay. Overall, despite the room allocation issue, Le Dupleix remains a beautiful heritage hotel that perfectly captures the spirit and charm of Pondicherry. I would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the city—just be sure to confirm your room category in advance if that is important to you.

Had a pleasant stay at Le Dupleix, Pondicherry. Beautiful heritage ambiance, clean rooms, and very courteous staff. The location is perfect for exploring White Town, and the overall experience was peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommended!

Our stay at this beautiful heritage hotel in Pondicherry was truly memorable. The property effortlessly transports you back to the French Indian era, with its charming architecture, elegant furniture, and thoughtfully preserved ambiance. Every corner reflects a sense of history blended with comfort. What made the experience even more special was the exceptional hospitality. The staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. Their kindness went above and beyond—especially when they graciously looked after our infant while we enjoyed a peaceful dinner. It’s rare to find such genuine care. Excellent Stay
Very good location. Just a 5 minute walk to the promenade. Went and saw the sun rise from the rocks. The ambience is lovely. The staff are all very friendly and helpful with prompt service. Rooms and amenities are very good. Loved my stay at the Le Dupleix.

Mosquito terrible
I have booked this hotel I found mosquitoes everywhere. Food is expensive and there are very few varieties.

Visit to Pondicherry
Nice Heritage property. Had a spacious room. Nice and clean toilet. Though we had a water leakage issue from the vent in the washroom which was fixed. Also, the sink hole in bath tub needs cleaning and had minor blockage. Breakfast quality was very average. Staff was courteous and helpful. AC was very effective. They also provided a fan on stand on request.

Zero value for money.
The hotel is not good. Rooms are below par. Staff is courteous. We were given the left over room inspite of booking high cost room. the only expense at the hotel was a food bill worth Rs 558/-. We paid this on the previous night of our departure proactively noticing that there was nobody to settle accounts in the morning hours of 7 am. While we left for our onward journey, one of the staff members ran behind our car for demanding Rs 558/- which he did not know that the amount was paid previous night. We shh hi owed him the proof of payment and then he allowed us to go. Canteen service and food is not good. I would give 1 out of 10. Not worth staying . Least value for money. If owner of this hotel has any concern then he is requested to consult me on mobile number.

Excellent Stay
The property is very well located. Just a 100mtrs walk to Rock beach❤️ You get to experience 17th century heritage hotel, well maintained and very polite staffs. Every furniture feels royal. You get to explore nearby white town French streets filled with good cafes and restaurants. Just at walking distances, this is another great advantage. Only down side I felt was bed height. The bed height was almost to my waist. They provide steps to climb up to bed. Overall, worth every penny!

Property was very good. It has been well maintained as heritage property. Staff were courteous. Breakfast might have been better in terms of options. Food quality and taste was good. Perfect location for going around , walkable to beach road.

beautiful property at the heart of white town
The property is a classic old heritage Bunglow once owned by the mayor of Pondicherry during French Raj. The property is clean n well maintained. Every room is unique. The food was equally good. The location is equally good, very close from the sea beach, and at the heart of happening restaurant and cafes

An absolute gem in the heart of White Town, Le Dupleix is pure magic!
My stay was nothing short of dreamlike. Tucked away in the charming lanes of White Town, this stunning property radiates aesthetic elegance. From the beautifully designed rooms to the calming ambience that instantly makes you feel at home. But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible warmth of the staff. A special shoutout to Jemima, who was an angel! Not only did she ensure my early check-in went smoothly, but she also checked in on me multiple times during my stay with such genuine warmth. The lovely Padmini from housekeeping was sweeter than honey. Courteous, thoughtful, and always smiling. And I can’t forget Suneel and Saravanan, who not only kept my room spotless but even left behind the cutest handwritten note, thanking me for choosing Le Dupleix. I mean, who does that? If you’re heading to Pondy and want an experience that’s more than just a stay, something that truly touches your heart, Le Dupleix is the place to be. Can’t recommend it enough.
