Location was not as good as expected. Property needs a lot of renovation to be done and does not do justice for the premium price that they charge. We had paid around 22 k per night but the room is really worth only 10 k per night, and the rooms are really old enough and there is no proper maintenance done. Food on the buffet was average; could have given a wider spread of menu options for the premium charged. On request, we had ordered for prawns and it was so rubbery and overcooked. Hi tea was very poorly managed. Overall, it was really disappointing as the images of the resort do not make justice in reality. And definitely not worth the premium that they charge.

Nice property amidst a coffee estate, very well maintained...we got upgraded to a pool room, that was a great gesture...The food spread is very good...The staff is very attentive and helpful

The property is excellent in almost every aspect. However, the food was average and did not meet expectations in terms of taste. Improving the food quality and variety would make this place truly outstanding for all kinds of events.

We stayed at Java Rain Resort for 2 nights. The resort is located in a beautiful, lush green setting and is very peaceful—perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The property itself is scenic and surrounded by nature, and the staff were polite and courteous throughout our stay. However, the service quality did not meet expectations, especially considering the pricing. We had to repeatedly ask for very basic amenities like toiletries and bathroom slippers, which ideally should have been provided without reminders. We had booked a private pool villa, but unfortunately, the pool was not ready when we arrived. Pool cleaning started only on the first night, and it became usable only by the next day around 12 PM, which was disappointing for a 2-night stay. Additionally, the swimming pool tiles were chipping off, raising concerns about maintenance and safety. The living room cushions in the villa were dirty and had to be changed after we requested it. Even drinking water took multiple follow-ups—we had to call three times, and it was delivered more than an hour later. Overall, the property has great potential and a lovely natural setting, but it is not value for money at its current service standards. There is a strong need to improve service responsiveness and maintenance to meet guest expectations.

Extremely overpriced, no actual food spread and more than anything the operations manager and a senior guy at the restaurant doing impartial treatment for guests, they talk, greet and treat only those who are overly dressed and look filthy rich while everyone to arrive at the property would have paid the same. They should first learn hospitality lessons to treat everyone equally, we were made to wait 30 minutes for even getting water poured to the glass, and stressed multiple times that we are subscribed to only breakfast package, as if we weren’t capable of paying for other food A senior guy at the restaurant didn’t even make eye contact and listen to what we were trying to order but was only running high profile foreign guests. Such a basic lack of hospitality lessons, property, greenery and location are good, but for this price definitely not worth it. There are similar properties at 10% of the price offering such hospitality, we were with a kid and took us multiple requests to even get milk served and were straight up told no for room services during a specific time inspite of telling them that it’s for a 3 year old kid. There was an occasion where we asked for a small scissor and it was served but we were literally told 10 times before checkout and reminded to hand it over back to them, such a pathetic gesture by the people at the property. We would never even bother to look back or mention about this property to anyone for sure

Excellent family getaway. Very good and supportive staff. Buffet menu had a wide range of dishes in both vegetarian and non vegetarian.

Stay and overall experience is good, the reception lady is too arrogant and rude and poor behaviour and didn't help with things mentioned.

I had a wonderful stay at Java Rain Resort. The environment was incredibly relaxing, and the property was well-maintained. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the check-in process smooth. It was the perfect quick getaway, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to unwind.

Rooms were neat and clean, location is absolutely mind blowing , staff are very friendly, spa session was worth a try .. Food should have been a lil better ... They dint had much elaborated menu.. even in that menu few items were ok ok.. rest was fine ... Over all good experience

We stayed here with our 3-year-old and overall found the location and rooms to be good – the property is calm, peaceful, and relaxing. That said, we did feel the stay was a little underwhelming. Compared to other hotels in a similar price range, there weren’t many activities to keep us or the kids engaged. The kids’ play area was very minimal, and outdoor options like cycles weren’t really usable. The food was also just average.

A wonderful property with great staff. Worth staying at when visiting Chikmaglur. Here are a few things to keep in mind that helped us, adjust our expectations when visiting this picturesque property: 1. Property is a little dated, so you’ll find that some things are not up to the mark as you’d expect with a premium resort. Eg: the chair in our room was broken, chipped flooring, tainted walls etc. 2. The high tea is very tasty pakodas and tea/coffee. 3. In the monsoon, the nature trails are unavailable. 4. Indian, traditional food is good, Chinese not so much. 5. It has a rustic charm, with good hospitality and largely clean, so our stay was great.

Really avg food. The property was decent. Neither great nor bad. Not much to do inside the property.

We booked Qahva and Fika rooms. We asked for rooms near each other they accommodated our request and gave us another room instead of Fika after a lot of confusion. The resort is very slippery in monsoon season and they haven’t maintained the section near the Qahva rooms well. Multiple calls had to be made to reception for room slippers. Even the rooms and bathroom were slippery. It took multiple calls for room service as well, my elderly parents couldn’t have walked to the buffet area. They had a single buggy that took time to arrive. We paid for Qahva jacuzzi but it was outside in balcony with no privacy and was not really usable. It was so slippery that even we couldn’t walk around the resort forget elderly folks. Food was also not so great and we didn’t want to be caged in the room the whole time, so we left within a day even though we had a booking of two days. They did offer to give us 2 rooms next to each other after we had packed up and had gone to reception while checking out but we had had enough so we didn’t take up the offer. Our booking was non refundable so that was a loss for us. They could have waived off at least the food we ate but they didn’t. Coming to the room they had a good view and decently sized. They were not well maintained though, the curtains had stains seemed moldy the bed linen had a smell. The bathroom had lukewarm water and not hot enough for showers in monsoon weather.

A perfect weekend getaway where the resort staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely supportive of your relaxation and adventure goals. The resort offers a great ambience, with a relaxing atmosphere and well-designed spaces.

we stayed in jacuzzi villa, it was really awesome. we got complemenrary breakfast, spa, evening snacks and 1400 credit. Also, walk through plantation was best part. really enjoyed the stay in nature

The resort is extremely well maintained, inside the rooms, outdoor green canopy, pool and the common rec area. The food was excellent too. We stayed there for 1 night in Jun 2025 in the Fika Jacuzzi villa. The staff were extremely polite, responsive and helpful too. The only negative i would say is that the jacuzzi size should have been smaller or the resort should at least ensure that it can be filled with hot water. For the extra money paid for the jacuzzi itself like we were cheated as the hot water did not even fill quarter jacuzzi.
