Along with my wife and young daughter, we've stayed 3 nights starting from the 14th of june at your boudl salmeya hotel. We are portuguese citizens, with a background in the hospitality industry. We had come to kuwait, from dubai to visit our relatives who live in salmiya. We were planning to stay at the ibis, but chose to stay with boudl. At first, we were taken aback seeing the property, as it does not structurally look like a 4 star hotel. The facilities were basic and it felt more 3 stars or below. The rooms were good, but zero tv channels for foreigners to enjoy. The bathroom was ultra basic. It felt like an apartment in a regular building. Not a hotel. We went down for breakfast, which unfortunately for us, we paid for all three mornings of our stay. The service staff over there were 2 men; one just clearing the tables and another gent who looked absolutely bored of being there. There was no greetings or any indication that we were welcome to the restaurant. Inf-act we wished him a good morning and he just mumbled something back. Absolutely no respect for my wife and child. The food, i'm sorry to say, was below basic. The vegetables for the salad looked old, not freshly cut, the fruits were sad looking, the hot food did not have any flavor and the eggs looked like they were cooked at maybe 5 am. Nothing was fresh or tasty. Coming to a middle eastern country, we expected some nice food. Hummus, moutabel, muhammra, some nice beans like foul medammes (where you can actually see the beans, not just mash, maybe some nice paratha, potato dishes, the shakshouka was scrambled eggs and tomato, some local kuwaiti offerings - especially since it's supposed to be a 4 stars hotel. The sausage on offer for 3 mornings were exactly the same. We thought it was made in bulk and just reheated everyday, today the hummus they offered was actually just out of the can and on the bowl - how sad can this be. Hummus is a basic food in all gcc and mena. Really very bad food in the boudl salmeya. Even our eid breakfast was nothing special. I had asked this waiter for a simple bowl or bottle of vinegar, to add to my salad, as all the lemons were dry. He said that i couldn't have any as they don't keep vinegar in the kitchen. I really find this hard to believe. All of the staff over there, did not wish me or greet me or my family even once. With the exception of amr or the egyptian receptionist, nobody else even smiled or said hello. This is a hotel, or a penance centre where everyone is upset and grumpy ? needless to say, we will not return to stay at this "hotel. Neither will we recommend it to our friends who travel to kuwait. I really did not enjoy whatever stay i had there. Disappointing !
