Poor Stay

Very far from Airport but near to sea Beach. But they had given access to clean Beach only for wedding Photographing. Others should use dirty Beach. Food_ Difficult to get indian food . Old Building is having lot of leakages with pigjon access. New Building slight better but Lift was not having proper maintenance. Cockroatch in morning breakfast. Very slow reception persons . Providing water bottles need three call in 1.5 hours to get. No currency exchange and travel agent available at hotel.

⭐️⭐️ My stay at Mount Lavinia was not as expected. The property is completely run down and lacks the charm it once had. Even the staff seemed as old and tired as the property itself. The only highlight was the view — truly beautiful and relaxing, especially the sunset. Sadly, the overall experience did not meet expectations.

A historic but underwhelming Stay

We stayed at Mount Lavina Beach Hotel for a day, and while its colonial-era architecture and stunning views of Colombo from the balcony were highlights, our overall experience was disappointing. Despite informing them in advance, our room wasn't ready until evening, and the one we got had issues - mattresses were scattered outside on the balcony. The escalators were slow and jerky, adding to our frustration. we felt the hotel was overpriced and not worth the cost. While it has a historic charm and a lively crowd, the service and room issues made our stay far from memorable. Perhaps with some renovations and better management, this 200-year-old hotel could live up to its potential.

Worthless, never try.

Except beach and breakfast, rest all is zero..Not recommended.. Aircon not working, tried alternate room and saw many arguing with staff about poor Aircon, cleanliness, poor service..Second night used pedastal fan. cockroaches near the lifts, Lizard in my room, very poor lighting . old hotel not maintained. Staff who could not give any solutions. Very bad and will never recommend this. Waste of money.

Terrible because when arrived for checkin I was told my booking was cancelled by Makemy Trip and they showed me the email received on my request. I have no other options but to pay again for my stay. After lots of correspondence I received a response from makemy trip that they received a request for my refund ans it is under review and will be paid for approval. This is not acceptable as I paid to makemy trip well in advance and I have to pay again to the Hotel due to wrong communication from makemy trip. I never expected such a laps from Make.y trip.

The property is nice, view from the rooms is also amazing (I booked the Sea View Room). Pros: 1. Breakfast buffet is extensive with amazing food options of different cuisines 2. View from room, pool, dining area is beautiful. 3. Location is also accessible. 4. Private beach is available. Cons: 1. There is no hand shower (Bidet) in the washrooms. 2. There are no Fans in the room (it is a beach resort and you can't skip fans in a beach resort).

This is a Heritage Property. Private beach access and Pool was the best thing about this Property. It had Damp smell all over the restaurant service was very poor food taste was not good,overall bad stay and experience. Since Mount Lavinya beach had only 1 beach property no other option available
