We stayed at the Amphora in October break which meant the hotel was relatively quiet, it appeared as if they’d reduced the staff. The main restaurant disappointingly was closed, we were served in the breakfast room by a single waiter who was unable to cope with demand - food there was not great. Location is fine as long as your either up for a long but pleasant walk or happy to take a taxi, beware some of the local taxis are fierce at overcharging €95 for 2 miles from port to hotel - after that one I used Uber for everything which was good. The promenade and beach were excellent. Spa facilities were good easy to access with capacity in October, would be interesting in August. Room was nice and clean with amazing view of Adriatic Sea from balcony. Overall I would recommend staying in the hotel and eating out, Split city was very interesting with nice cafes and restaurants

The location and beach are great. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The dinner buffet was awful with no service so we didn't even get wine. Our room was not properly cleaned - with towels left in the cupboard and clothes left in the drawers plus random hangers hanging from the bed. There was no reconciliation for the issues - just the evening buffet which as noted above was terrible. I am sure others has a better experience and if we went back I am sure we would have a better experience.

This was a cool hotel, with huge rooms, huge terraces, all glass corner rooms were awesome with views up & down the coastline! Breakfast had everything & more! Staff really nice , loved the bottle of champagne & fruit platter! The promenade & rocky beach are massive and everyone enjoyed swimming in the ocean!

I would not recommend this hotel. First impressions are important and I was ignored while standing at the counter waiting for check in. Both attendants saw me...but looked occupied so I patiently waited...only for them to help other guests who came after me. When I brought it to their attention, the attendant shrugged his shoulder and said ' I didn't see you' and continued to ignore me. Although this hotel looks spectacular...on closer inspection, our toilet seat was cracked, they used black tape to repair a crack in the counter, the curtains had large holes in it...the repairs were not up to the standard of the hotel. The pool was gorgeous. The breakfast was very good. And the proximity to the beach was amazing. As a VIP guest, I was to receive a bottle of wine during my stay. I did not receive it. I called down to ask for it, and they said they are sending it up...and it never came. There were a few nice staff members...but on a whole, I found the staff to be cold and some quite rude. I will not return to this hotel.

Great hotel and location, good breakfast and excellent balcony. I would have liked room service but you ideally need to go to reception to organize. There are no menus in the room or on the TV information. Would definitely book again, the pool and spa are excellent.
