The hotel did not have any electricity for whole 10 hrs, mark that when i had a flight to board today early morning at 3. I woke up to no light and telephone connection while based on the 11th floor at 3 am struggling to contact someone about what’s happening. Had to go downstairs finally after 15 min to enquirer where the staff gave me the stupidest response blaming the government who were “seemingly” conducting a maintenance activity due to which power supply will be cut till morning 10am? do you believe this? they did not care to inform any guests. They were not only unapologetic but didn’t give me an alternative to pursue when i had a 7 am flight to board today. I could not waste anymore time, came back to my room and used my phone’s torch with half charge cause there wasn’t any electricity since 11 pm last night, to get ready in the room and catch my flight in time. Unbelievable for a 4-star hotel in dubai jlt. I was a solo business traveler who was hassled at odd hours with 0 resolution or even an attempt to offer a solution at those hours. I told a friend who was picking me up to wait downstairs at the lobby a day before and she came straight to my room cause no one checked nor asked her the room number. Lift has complete access to everyone and not just residents. They made me wait till 2. 30 pm upon arrival when the check in time was 2 and didn’t give me a room. The washroom had all sort of plumbing and electrical issues like the in built hair dryer not working, bath tub drainage issues and bath tub tap not working. During the limited few hours i spent at the hotel, i was constantly surprised. And then no electricity for whole 10 hrs right before an early morning check out? even a third world country’s villages are better prepared to deal with this than a 4-star jlt hotel in dubai central. Pathetic hotel and worst decision to stay here.
